Lessons
We provide lessons to individuals and small groups. Lessons are customized to your needs, wants, and abilities. We help people get started, improve, and prepare for competition if that is what they desire. We have many places where we teach and always seek to meet in a place that is convenient for the clients. We keep track what our students learn in lessons and suggest ways to practice so that things learned in the lesson transfer over to practice and play. We help you make progress in your game!
Clinics
We teach clinics on a regular basis from Intro to Pickleball, novice classes like Fundamentals of Success, First 3 Shots, and Dinks and Volleys. We also teach intermediate clinics like Intro to Spin and Playing with Purpose. Most clinics are open to the public and advertised on the Meet, Play, Learn Pickleball
Austin Facebook group.
Clinics can also be customized and scheduled for groups like pickleball clubs, neighborhoods, churches, and corporate groups.
Contact us if you want to discuss clinics for your
group.
Meet, Play, Learn Novice Groups
As the growth in pickleball has outgrown the number of courts, in some places it has become less social and more competitive. So we offer “Meet, Play, Learn” novice groups which have a controlled number of participants and all of a similar skill level playing games together. MPLP groups meet weekly in a fun social environment. This keeps the joy in the game from pure play, no pressure, and meeting new people. We provide a coach who is available to help players get their questions answered and advance at their own pace. These groups have reserved courts so there is plenty of playing time.
Check the Meet, Play, Learn Pickleball Austin Facebook group for scheduled sessions in Austin or contact us if you want to set up your own group.
Choosing a Paddle
There are many types of pickleball paddles: power, control, one piece, layered, wide, elongated, light,
midweight, heavy, etc. Jim was a racket tech in tennis and has recently represented several pickleball
brands.
He is currently is a member of Team Selkirk because they have the broadest line of paddles for clients to choose from. Jim has every model of Selkirk paddle so that players can try several before buying. And, using his code ADV-JKOCHANSKI when purchasing on Selkirk.com, players can get a gift card from Selkirk averaging 15% of purchase. Let us know if you want to try paddles at a demo day.
